I got this hardcover, signed by the author to a previous owner, at a local thrift shop. It counts up from 1 to 12, and then from 20 to 100 by tens, with each number featuring NH-related information and illustrations: "1 husky pulling" is about the Tamworth sled-dog races; "4 wily brook trout" celebrate the state freshwater fish; "7 steam engines" features the famous Cog Railway on Mt. Washington; "12 Shaker boxes" talks about the Shakers and their faith; "40 tin buckets" highlights the state's maple-sugar industry; and so forth!
