Cancer Schmancer

Great book from the "layman's" point of view on one womans battle to be properly diagnosed and treated once she thought she had an illness. Shows that women should search and search and NOT give up if they know their bodies and that something "doesn't seem right". Also demonstrates how, once the diagnosis was made, and the correct physician was selected, time played very important part in that battle. Easy to read, in laymans terms and being written by a television and broadway star, interesting to see how being someone important really doesn't matter. Nor does the amount of money you have matter...sick is sick, no matter who or what you are!
The book was a great fluff read, as far as the level of reading. I read it in one day. But the part that got to me was hearing how someone with access to the best medical care in the world, went undiagnosed for so long. I took to heart the part about being a fighter in my own corner when it comes to medical problems. And I'm encouraged to ask more questions.
