I loved this book. I saw the film twice several years ago, and loved ir, but the book is so much better. I found it very moving and funny.

This book is on its way to Finland. I hope lukutuoli enjoys it as much as I did. Once again, thanks, tomatolady, for sharing it with me.

I've read plenty of Anne Tyler -books before, but this is a new acquaintance for me. I found the front picture funny - has anybody else seen bookcrossing wings there? Or is it just my imagination?!
Thanks a lot, Marcenda, for the book and the postcard, too. It's years and years ago that I've visited Lisboa in the past...

I really enjoyed to read this story, this was one of the best books by Anne Tyler in my opinion. The characters were described so well, that I felt like I knew them. I liked the characters, except Muriel, which wasn't my type at all :) The main character Macon was easy to emphatize with, so sad and still so funny he was...
