#28 in the Cliff Hardy series. Eleven short stories from Aussie Peter Corris, of which seven had been previously published individually, between 1999 and 2003. Most of the stories are long enough to have some plot development, but the characterizations are thin, which is inevitable in short stories in the PI genre. There is a predictable rhythm to these stories, all of which end with some surprise, some small, some large. Entertaining enough.
