Firestorm
1 journaler for this copy...
I bought this second-hand from Amazon: it is the fourth book in the Anna Pigeon series.
I have not read any Nevada Barr for a while... I enjoyed this book, I was not too sure at the beginning whether I would stick with it but then I did. The scenes when Anna and her fellow firefighters are caught in the firestorm was scarily vivid! There is a ramping up of the romantic tension between Anna and Frederic Stanton but the ending was a little disappointing, as if the author did not know how to write the conclusion so copped out a little... however, it has left me wondering what happens in the next book!
The mystery was ho-hum - the real draw for me, as always, is Anna herself. As the Americans would say, she is world-weary sassy. She has some great lines: I loved the quip when she is reminscing over past loves and refers to filing Frederic Stanton into the "ships who pass in the night" file. Ain't we all been there? I sure have.
Anyway, I shall release this book into the wild. I hope whoever finds this novel enjoys it. When you have finished with the book, please send it out into the wild for someone else to find. Thanks very much and welcome to Bookcrossing!
