A Good House

This is a fabulous read by a great Canadian ... it won the Giller Prize. This is a fabulous portrait of an ordinary family from the 1950's to the 1990's - don't let the chapter-per-decade format put you off. Well worth the time, so savour every page.

I saw this book a week ago when I found two of your other books, but I thought taking two was enough for me. I went back today and noticed this book still there.. I figure a week and no one picks it up, I can take it!
I will journal again when I'm finished reading it - currently I'm reading one of the other books I picked up at this location.
Thanks!

I found this a pretty quick read, and it was quite enjoyable. This wasn't a book I would normally pick up and read, so it was nice to have a change of pace.
I would have liked the book to end differently.. I actually would have liked practically every character to have a different ending, but hey, I'm not an author!
I'm going to pass this book on to my mom becuase I think she'll enjoy it. When she's done I'll release it again - or maybe she will release it!

Ok, just thought I would come in and update this... let you know what's going on!
I sent this book off with my mom on vacation, and gave her some nice labels to stick on/in the book if she so pleased. She's heading out to Alberta and all the national parks. If she finishes the book she will be releasing it somewhere out there.
Changing this status back to "to be read", since it is to be read.. just not by me!
I'll update this as soon as I hear from her, and make release notes :)

Well, actually, my parents gave me this to read, I think it was in Scotland or something. perhaps not, but I know they went there this summer, and i wasn't with them, so i can't be SURE. but i think i am.
and i havent had time to read it cause other school books and assignments get in the way, but instead of keeping this book for what now is...about six months, i shall like to pass it on to someone who will :)
