I got this book on accident. I forgot to send in my rejection card to Doubleday and ended up with 2 books I didn't want. Then I kept forgetting to shove them in the mail with a rejection on them. I was bored so I picked this one up, started reading and couldn't put it down! When late night advice giving radio dj, Paris Gibson, ends up with a crazed caller threatening to kill his girlfriend in 72 hours because of advice Paris had given her self-inflicted isolation is broken... enter crime psychologist Dean Malloy.... a man from the past who Paris had wanted to forget.

I enjoyed reading this book although the number of characters confused me initially. It kept me guessing till the very end.

We have a celebrity radio deejay who unwittingly advised one of her female listeners to break off with her possessive boyfriend, resulting in that girl being kidnapped. The kidnapper called up, identified himself as one of her regular listeners, Valentino, and said he planned to rape the girl and kill her but gave the deejay 72 hours to find them.

The deejay made a police report which reunited her with an old friend, now a police psychologist.

We have a number of suspects:
1. Gavin - the psychologist's son who attended the same school as the kidnapped girl, who happened to be a judge's daughter but is a tease who set up an internet sex club forum and sleeps around for money

2. Brad Armstrong - a dentist, a sex offender who has a record for molesting his patients and is getting out of control, not attending his therapy sessions

3. Lancy Ray Fisher aka Marvin - a janitor at the radio station who tapes all of the deejay's broadcasts and seems to be obsessed with her even though he seldoms talks to her

4. Stan - the producer of the station, who warns Marvin away, implying that he is an item with the deejay, very protective indeed

5. John Rondeau - one of the detectives on the case, ambitious and yet uses the case as an excuse for research to sleep with the girls in the internet sex club

So, who can it be?

Going to lend this to my friends.

Wonderful read by a local author. I haven't come across a book that I didn't like by Sandra Brown.
