Ok. So its a 'teen' book, so what! I really liked it. In fact, I liked it so much that after reading it as part of someone else's ring, I had to buy it to start my OWN ring.

A fun little jaunt into the land of fairies, filled with humor, suspense, and mystery. An easy read for those of us tired of the long, drawn out novels.

Book Description;
Twelve-year old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius - and, above all, a criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn't know what he's taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren't the fairies of bedtime stories - they're dangerous! Full of unexpected twists and turns, Artemis Fowl is a riveting, magical adventure.

Arrived safely in Gateshead. Thanks Moondancer11. What a lovely sparkling book this is :-)

I finished reading the book last night, because I didn't want to wait another day for the grand finale. I enjoyed the book and am now curious to read the other books in the series, I've heard that they are even better. The whole idea of a 12 year old criminal mastermind is brilliant. I don't think I would read the book again, but it does make entertaining summer reading.

Release planned for Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Surface mail in Controlled Release, Controlled Release Controlled Releases.

On its way to Brujula in France :-)

And it has a very nice card inside, thank you, gerenggat!

The adventures of an Irish teenager who decides to steel gold from the fairies... All the fairie's world and technology are well described, the characters well set.
It is entertaining and well written. A good fantasy book for teenagers.
Thank you MoonDancer11!

Has anyone taken the trouble to translate the "secret message" at the bottom of the pages?

I'll be mailing this book to Nightstar as soon as I have the adress!

by the way...that was me ;)

I really liked the book... but couldn´t bound with Artemis at all.
I loved Short, Foaly and their commander and I definetly have s oft spot for Butler... but Artemis seems not to be my kind of "hero" or "villain" at all ;)

However, sent it on to wandering just 15min ago.

Hope the mailoffice can read my hast scribbling on the envelope *smiles*

Well, apparantly they could read it, because it has landed safely in my mailbox. I will read it as soon as I can - but there are some other rings that have to be read first. It shouldn't take more than three weeks though...

Thanks MoonDancer, for letting us read along!

Brilliant! A fairy-tale, but different. Great characters and a great plot!

I'm going to try and crack the code and if it works out before I get Jolanda's address I'll put a coded message over here as well...

Crack it! ;o)

Great book! They idea of the fairy-characters living deep in the earth is great. And of course I always knew they where there :) It was a great read and once started I couldn't put it down, again a late night...
The book is already travelling to Germany.

Journal Entry 16 by Loeweneckerchen from Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, September 11, 2004

Thank you all for your patience, it was real fun to read this book. It took me only five train trips to and from work to get through, it's fast and easy reading. Wonderful story and very interesting characters. I hope I get a chance to read the sequel books, too.

Very interesting. Quite different than the "usual" teen books! :)

I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read the next one!

Off to Lpree.

Journal Entry 20 by Lpree from Omaha, Nebraska USA on Monday, May 2, 2005
This arrived in today's mail. I should have double-checked my list before sending my address -- I had thought this one was stuck/lost, so I signed up for another ring for this series, which is in my TBR pile, so I'm going to mail this on without reading it. Sorry! I will mail this out sometime this week.

UPDATE 5/3 - Saphyre has asked to be skipped. PMing roadrunner.

5/10 - Mailed to roadrunner

Journal Entry 21 by roadrunner from Spring, Texas USA on Tuesday, May 24, 2005
