I read Dicey's Song a couple years ago so when I saw this one for only 25 cents I had to get it. I haven't had time to read it yet so here's what somebody on Amazon had to say about it:

Sibling Unity, January 21, 2004
Reviewer: A reader from Malaysia
I am a fan of the Tillerman series. In this first book of the series, Voigt introduces us to Dicey, a strong-willed young lady who has to bring her siblings from Peewauket to Connecticut to search for their mother- via leg mobile. Having little more than 11 dollars, they begin their journey without any idea of what lies ahead. Voigt offers beautiful storytelling here. She succesfully depicted the love and unity between Dicey and her siblings. Voigt's style is extremely appealing, simple with touches of humour and drama. In short "Homecoming" is a tale wonderfully told, making it a rare gem. Thumbs up for Voigt!!

Please Note: When sending this book out I forgot to include an appropriate BCID label, actually, I forgot to include the BCID altogether! Anyway, I've asked LimeFroggy to just write the BCID inside the front cover, and then when it gets back to me I'll add a label. Sorry about any confusion!

I left this with someone in Poland and asked that they send it on to Limefroggy by surface mail. It should be on its way by now. Hopefully it won't take to long before it gets there! Enjoy! :-D

I read this book a little while ago, but the story has stayed with me as it is quite lovely. It is about sibling love and loyalty and a frightening coming of age that is softened by the love and trust that the 4 siblings have for each other. Dicey, the main character in the book is remarkable in her determination and strength to see her 3 younger siblings through to a secure future. I will pass this book on to the next persomn in the bookring.
