This book was passed along with a bunch of others by Leester last Sunday. It looks like a great read - Emma Donahue is a finalist for the Booker Prize, winner of the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction prize...and more. The New York Times called Donahue's "The Wonder" (an earlier book) "heartbreaking and transcendent".
Hold that status! Jessibud just got very excited that I had this book on my virtual bookshelf. Status now: Reserved.
Thank for the book. I just had a bunch of library holds all come in at once so it may take me a bit of time to get to it but I definitely will!
I love the label, Lockdown Cats!! Amazing!

Trying to cull the shelves a bit. I think I will pass on this one for now. Do you want it back? I'll bring it to the next meetup.
Karmic…really…I JUST finished “Slammerkin” by Donahue. First book of hers for me. I loved it, so sure…. I will give “Akin” a whirl.
I found this book in the Harbord House Cafe in Toronto, I'm enjoying reading it with a nice glass of cider and a veggie burger!
