Journal Entry 2 by CharmedKim from Secaucus, New Jersey USA on Friday, May 21, 2004
It never really captured my interest which was disappointing since I like books of this genre. Sent out today to fellow BookCrosser, JDT. Enjoy!

Journal Entry 4 by JDT from Pleasanton, California USA on Saturday, July 17, 2004
Very interesting concept: the juxtaposition of 2 men with significant impacts on Chicago, even America, at the same time in history: the positive, influential, forward/grandiose-thinking architect for the Chicago Fair; AND the elusive, evil, mysterious, urban serial murderer. A classic/creative pairing, apparently factual, of good vs. evil flourishing side by side - But, I found myself skimming it rather than being pulled in to the story. (Maybe I wasn't in the mood for this murderer's story...) Sending it to GrammarBroad. Hope you enjoy it; I've heard good things about this book!

Omigosh! Did you see the number on this book? 1616666! Is that a trip or what? Received today, a BookRelay from JDT and a wish crossed off my list. I'm a little dizzy, but looking forward to reading it! Oh, my!

Journal Entry 7 by GrammarBroad from Baton Rouge, Louisiana USA on Monday, November 22, 2004
This book is interesting. Well researched and written well enough to string me along but never compel me to finish it. Well, it's nonfiction. And fact is stranger than fiction, as "no novelist would dare to invent such a character" for sure! Lots of fascinating people intersecting. Nice turns of phrase: "A loner and intellectually intolerant" (Frank Lloyd Wright's mentor, Louis Sullivan). A tough one to finish, but worth the trip. I love nonfiction that sends me to the Internet to do my own research. I never heard of most of this stuff, even though my father is STILL talking about the Chicago World's Fair of 1933. And this one was a bigger deal? WOW! #629

Journal Entry 8 by GrammarBroad from Baton Rouge, Louisiana USA on Monday, November 22, 2004
On its way on a Relay. Sorry it took so long, but I was just determined to finish it first, and it isn't exactly a page-turner. But it is very interesting, and ultimately worth the trip. Hope you enjoy it.

It's here, thanks so much for sharing! I started reading it on a break at work today, and I hated having to put it down! I'll be digging into it again momentarily!
