A bit too sentimental for my tastes but still enjoyable. This was written when
Alcott was still a teenager and never published, though it may have been rilfed
for material later on. It seems to have been published now more as an oddity
but it is still an easy and light read. I found the virtue of the heroine a bit too much
to bear and overall the characters were rather one-dimensional. It wasn't long
enough to delve into too much maudlin sentimentality but was on the border
occasinally. Perhaps best for Alcott fans.
