It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

Another classic Kinsey murder mystery. When I pick these up now I do feel so sad that Sue Grafton died before she got Z out. Such a shame because they are a fabulous series. Although lucky me, there are still books to be read. I've not read L yet, need to get hold of that one, so for the first time I've skipped a letter and gone on to M.

Malice indeed. 18 years worth of simmering, bubbling malice going on in this one. And it's sad, because it just shows that nursing grudges like that does no one any good. And once you've had your revenge what else is there to do in life but throw yourself under a truck? And although wronged, all carrying that grudge does is give worthless people rent-free space in your head; people who really don't care what happened to you, how they ruined things for you, or how you let their actions destroy the rest of your life.

It starts out as a simple tale. An old man dies and the only will that can be found is an earlier one splitting his fortune between his four sons. The only problem is, one of the sons, who was a drink-drug problem child in his teens, had been given his marching orders by the father 18 years ago and never seen or heard of since. What to do? Well, any legal person handling the will has to make an effort, so Kinsey is hired to find the missing son. It turns out to be a simple job. She soon finds him and discovers that he has turned his personality and life around and is a decent sort who has been waiting all these years to see if his family would forgive and want to get back in touch. And sadly it seems he's the only decent person now in a family of rich, spoilt and self-absorbed middle aged sons.

And perhaps that would have been it, with the usual family unpleasantness over wills, except someone anonymously (fake name) leaks the story to the press, and suddenly the whole town is going nuts over his return. Except the fake name has a link to their past. And then there's a murder. It seems someone is carrying a very nasty grudge....
