I thought this book was wonderful. I still haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Just found this book in my mail box today. Hope to read it in the next couple of days and then send it on to the next person in the ring.
Overall the book is wonderful. It did start out slow, but picked-up by the third chapter and was wonderful reading after that. I would tell everyone to read this book.
what a book! i loved it, and here i thought that i wasn't really a fan of war novels....made me really want to see the movie! lol. i don't like war movies much either :) but i really enjoyed the kind of wandering/haunting feeling of Inman, and the determined-ness of Ada....you really could identify with both of them.

I wasn't sure I would like this one, but am sure glad I gave it a try. It was a slow start, but once into it, I didn't want to put it down. It made me want to see the movie! I'll get it out in the mail to the next person today or tomorrow.

08/15/04 - A good book. I liked the comparison to an oddessy where the story is within the journey, not the destination.

08/27/04 - Watched the movie last night. It followed the book better than most movies do, and even knowing what was coming - I found myself enjoying the movie and the characters very much and hoping... Sometimes, the actor portraying a character doesn't fit with the mental picture you create of them, but here, most did (it helped that you see the 3 main characters on the cover of the book).

Finally I can send this wonderfull book back home. I loved to read it of course. Much better than the movie, as almost every book adapted to the big screen is...
