This is the sixth book in Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew mystery series -- it's one of the original Nancy Drew mystery stories. This one was first published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1931, although this version was printed in the 1990s (and the books have been revised several times over the decades). Although all Nancy Drew books are attributed to the mythical "Carolyn Keene", most were in fact penned by Mildred Wirt Benson (1905 - 2002), seen in photo at left.I was a huge fan of Nancy Drew when I was in grade school, and when I re-read some of these books a year ago (as an old lady of 38!), I was surprised at how well the stories have held up. I hope someone out there will enjoy this book as much as I once did. Best wishes from British Columbia, Canada! |
