Disturbing news a little too close to where I grew up! After a few MapQuest queries I found out that the Plum Island (MA) I knew of was not the Plum Island (NY) being written about.
Never-the-less, this sort of activity in such an unstable environment seems destined to hurt us all in the long run.

This is a *very* disturbing book. It describes what is going on today as well as a very soiled past history of our handling virus and infectious diseases.
If you live on the eastern seaboard you owe it to yourself to read the book! Yes, you will be angry, but we in North America must be more aware of this and lobby to do something about it.
