A Time to Snag a book from a bookbox!
The third book in this series, and the first part of a two parter. I think all the books, excluding the final climaxing book, are two part stories. The ending of this book was a bit too cliff-hangie for my taste, but it still was quite servicable.
The first few chapters take place during Archer's time on the Enterprise, alhough we do not see Capt. Archer. The rest is in the "modern" future with Picard and all the rest between ST: Insurrection and ST: Nemesis, the worst movies in the whole series of movies. I've completely forgotten the plot of one and never bothered to see the other, but you know, the fans need to know these things...

Just got this book yesterday so I haven't read it yet
I didn't like this book, I had alot trouble with these authors style of writing.
I just recieved the book box and will be starting the first one soon.
More than two centuries ago, the Dokaalan sent an unmanned probe into the void, bearing a distress call for anyone who could save their doomed world. But the message reached Federation space too late to save the planet or its people. Or so it was believed...
Generations later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise-E are stunned to discover the last Dokaalan - now only a colony fighting to stay alive in a decrepit asteroid mining complex. Although thier home planet was destroyed long ago, the survivors hope to transform an nearby planet into a new home for their people. But bitter divisions exist among the Dokaalan, sowing the seeds of sabotage and terrorism - and placing Picard and the Enterprise in the middle of an escalating crisis that can only lead to total distruction.
This book was ok. It did refer to a lot of the tv episodes, so if you did not watch the series, you might miss some of the plot. The book ends just as the action is really getting going.
