I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, and this is a Discworld book. Sort of. There is a disc shaped world that superficially resembles a flat Earth, with dragons and demons. But it isn't quite the same world as Discworld, as if this was a alternate universe version.

This is a science-fiction novel, set in a far future, where humanity has ventured out into deep space, colonizing and terraforming worlds. It into this setting that the flat world is introduced, an impossible world, and figuring out the secrets of this world leads to quite an adventure.

So, did I enjoy this interesting cross between Discworld and a more traditional Science Fiction? I kept waiting for some of my favorite Discworld characters to appear, but they never did, which was a little disappointing. On the other hand, it is a short book, with a fast paced Science Fiction adventure story. On the whole, I would have to say that it was enjoyable, as long as you don't set your hopes on it contribute to the greater Discworld story.
