Found at Royal Mauian. It was a little pedestrian, but a period of Japanese history that I know a little about, so enjoyed the historical elements very much. I was not sure that all the dates were quite correct as Tokugawa Tsunayoshi was shogun 1680–1709 , but the story is set in 1689, so this works. The story has it roots in earlier centuries when Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi were allied to create the Edo Dynasty and the final ascendency of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu the adviser to the shogun appears as an evil influence.
