Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austin novel, next to Pride and Prejudice. It is also one of her most overlooked treasures, in my opinion. Granted, Anne is not as fiesty a heroine as Elizabeth Bennett, but I still found her greatly compelling. The subject matter is equally compelling, and still relevant today -- when should we allow someone else's opinion to change our mind, and when should we stand firm? Is the answer to that question always the same, or does it change from situation to situation?

Bottom Line: This book is deservedly a classic and is well worth the read.
