I've had this hardcover on my keeper shelves for ages, and it's time it went traveling. This is a fairly comprehensive work about mortality - from the definition and causes of death to what happens to the body afterwards, touching on historical, scientific, psychological, and philosophical aspects. Sometimes the going's a bit tough and the text a bit dry, but there are plenty of (if you'll pardon the expression) juicy anecdotes to keep one's interest up. While this one isn't as interesting to me as Iserson's "Death to Dust", it's still worth a look!
