An unexpected escapism box arrived on Thursday and I've actually managed to read this somehow ?? Oops, I was only meant to be having a quick look before journalling them all.

A fun, very quick read of pure escapism - no relation to reality at all. Thanks.

AN UNSUITABLE MATCH by CLAIRE THORNTON [1995] – an adventurous high drama laced with some grand passion, highly enjoyable this was my favourite read of the two tall tales. This was graced with an admirable heroine in Mary, capable, direct, and honest, and happily a sensible, hunky hero in the artistic Justin. Sad back story neither knows they were manipulated with lies in the past, by a well-meaning friend, so their promising earlier encounter years previously went drastically awry.

THE LOVE CHILD by MEG ALEXANDER [1998] – over the top high drama, positively gothic, peppered with clichés, more Radcliffe than Heyer. Sadly no heady sizzle. Chance meet of adoringly vulnerable young girl [dressed as boy] and young blade, dashing and titled. She rescues him, he rescues her pair fall in love but he doesn’t notice this. She decided she must flee to save his honour and while attempting this gets press-ganged. He rescues her again big reveal of honourable birth pair share 2nd chase kiss after, of course, a marriage proposal.

ADDED: SUN 09 DEC 2018 – OK no release notes as a swift rummage for a book to release at a meeting this afternoon found me stumbling upon this forgetting I hadn’t released it but whisking it away. So thanks go to earthcaroleanne [see below] for looking after it at the end of today’s BookCrossing meeting.

We weren't allowed to leave any books at the Filmhouse OBCZ this month so it's come home with me because I think I might know someone who might like this.

Grabbed off the Filmhouse BookCrossing bookshelf Tue 30 April for re-release at a Book Swap/BookCrossing meeting this evening, expect to leave it on the window-sill book shelf if no-one is of a mind to scoot off with it from the evenings assorted pile of books on the table.
