Interesting account of a trio of American writers/poets (plus assorted friends and associates) living in a cheap hotel on the left bank in Paris from 1958 to 1963, the height of the Beatnik period. It details the sex, drugs, hi-jinx, writings, readings, cut-ups, performances and other events that occurred during this period, and how they set the scene for the flower power hippy era of the 1960s. The Beats also influenced the Dada era and modern mail art works currently still in vogue.
