7 out of 10

I found this softcover in this Little Free Library in Newcastle ME while dropping off some books of my own. It's a revised edition of Sacks' book about his work with L-DOPA to treat catatonic patients of sleeping sickness, and features lots of clinical information as well as the extremely poignant - and sometimes heartbreaking - personal stories of the patients. The book inspired the 1990 film of the same name.

[There's a TV Tropes page on the film.]
