From my first review of this book:
*****
A true classic by Bradbury. I was surprised to never had read it in school, but was glad for this chance. I knew the basic premise on books being burned to "protect" people, but little beyond that.

The book actually went into many areas I did not expect despite the short length. I am glad this copy had the original text with the afterwords giving some more info into the story. However, the story itself seemed abrupt, but that could be my proclivity (wait, I don't use words like that) er, my habit of reading longer books.

Overall, my fear shares the author's fear that an abundance of editing for the good of the people could lead to a world similar to the one Bradbury depicts here. I was just in a dinner conversation where the entire topic was television shows. It made me wonder about the "entertaining" value of television and I thought of the main character's wife, enamored with her "family" of television personalities.
