I really enjoyed this book. Well written. This is the 1st of the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series. I have read the 1st 4 of this series now and have enjoyed them all. These books contain a lot of late 19th century, early 20th century English history and culture.

The 1st line of this book is "I was 15 when I met Sherlock Holmes,......"

This was a controlled release to a friend and neighbor, book lover and Sherlock Holmes fan. She returned the book to me with a lovely note saying the book was wonderful and that she can't wait to read the next one in the series.
