I really enjoyed this book. Well written. This is the 1st of the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series. I have read the 1st 4 of this series now and have enjoyed them all. These books contain a lot of late 19th century, early 20th century English history and culture.

The 1st line of this book is "I was 15 when I met Sherlock Holmes,......"

This is a controlled release to friend and book loving neighbor; a Sherlock Holmes fan.

This was a controlled release to a friend and neighbor, book lover and Sherlock Holmes fan. She returned the book to me with a lovely note saying the book was wonderful and that she can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Being released at the BCinDC monthly meet up at Birdies Cafe which is held yearly In Nov. in memory of "MaryZee" who established an OBCZ bookshelf there. The Bookshelf is being maintained by BCinDC members in her memory.
