Picked up at the Book Thing of Baltimore.
Hmmm. I decided I didn't want to read this series, but I found I'd wrapped the first book up for a special project and, upon unwrapping it, I needed to read it. It read like some of the other vampire fiction I've read in the past, so it didn't feel quite as original as it might have if I'd read it when it came out. The characters were all right, and I like that there was such a heavy mystery aspect to what could have been simply a supernatural love story.
I found that I didn't much care about most of the characters, but I did like the book overall. I don't think I liked it enough to keep reading the series, but I am glad I read the first book in the end.
