That was a damned good read, but hard stuff! It is about a young black girl growing up in a black neighbourhood somewhere in the USA. Drug trafficking an small crime is all around her. And her friend Khalil is shot in a traffic control, while she is in his car...
Finally it is a novel about civil rights and justice. The language is easy to understand, even for me as a non-native speaker, although the writer used a lot of slang words.
For me it is the read of the year and I definately need my own copy! I strongly recommend to read this book!
