I found the stories in this book to be enjoyable, and was happy to see perspectives on Czech history which I didn't know about before. I was given the book by a representative of the publishing company the last time I was in Brno, and I'm glad it came to me as I probably wouldn't have come across it otherwise.

I loved this series of short stories about life in the communist Czechoslovakia. All about the values of family and friends. I particularly liked the stories about visiting grandma and her having food ready even though it was always done on a whim with no warning.
Read in the English translation as sadly I have not learnt Czech.
