Hamlet, retold by a foetus, a clever, sarcastic foetus at that.
Trudy is eight and a half months pregnant, she is estranged from her husband, the father of her child and is living with his brother Claude. The two of them plot and connive overheard by the baby in her womb.
A clever idea, very well written (well it is Ian McEwan) and although I didn't like the idea of a pregnant woman drinking so much alcohol, the baby being a connoisseur of fine wines made me smile.
