I got this ex-library hardcover from Better World Books. It has charming, almost woodcut-style art, and each of the alphabet entries includes some tidbit about the natural world. Some of these are straightforward, others a bit more whimsical; for "X", we get "Please do not play with the feathery tips on the ears of this LYNX; it tickles."
