The first novel in the wonderful Mitford series. I felt like I found an old friend when I saw this at the Trident Literacy Assoc bookfair today.

Registered for the BC Convention/Anniversary Challenge 2004

Annotation
The first in a series of novels, this heartwarming book introduces readers to a small, charming North Carolina town and its equally charming denizens. Filled with the mysteries and miracles of everyday life and rich, provincial humor, At Home in Mitford will have readers clamoring for more. Followed by a sequel, A Light in the Window.

It's now going on loan to Bumma

It's good to be back in Mitford again. This a gently -told tale with warm characers well drawn. Mitford is a small town, quiet and peacful most of the time. A good story to settle your stomach after an upset.

Bother.
This one has leaped onto Mt Toobie, and refuses to be budged.
How could such a homey, gentle little book of impeccable manners possibly be so stubborn?
Thanks Bookczuk - but the rest are definitely going to be released!!

I was waiting for the right time to read this book, and it turned out to be two years after I received it. But it was so worth the wait, as this was the perfect time to read it! I took it out to town with me to have a quick coffee before doing some chores - and left the coffee shop when it closed, having totally missed most of the shops I''d intended going to. Then this morning, I didn''t get up, as I didn''t finish it until this afternoon!
This book is a balm to the soul. Thank you so much for sending it to me!
