Journal Entry 1 by biba89 from Deventer, Overijssel Netherlands on Saturday, March 27, 2004
I picked this one up in one of those garage sales, in Bude, Cornwall. United Kingdom, that is. Only the garage sale was completely deserted. I roamed around for a good half hour, delved up four treasures and then payed the total amount of 60 cents into a small box at the outside of the garage. As requested.

Journal Entry 2 by biba89 from Deventer, Overijssel Netherlands on Thursday, October 13, 2005
So this one has been on my stack-to-be-read for some time now. Ulverton is a rural village in England. This book consists of stories throughout the history, from different people from around there, talking about their life to a visitor in the pub, writing letters to their secret lover, making a journal about their progress in farming, little notes to a son. It was very interesting, hearing all these different voices. Sad that my grasp of English is just not enough, some of the stories went totally over my head and I lost the thread of the book. I tried and came about halfway before I gave up. Still, for a better English speaker it will surely be a very good book, very well written, wonderful dialogues.
