Stealing Home: The Story of Jackie Robinson

I'll read this with my son. It is good for him to learn about history through the lives of those who lived it.
My son learned a lot from reading this book about how blacks were treated in America before the Civil Rights Movement. He didn't like how blacks had to sit in different areas than whites, that they couldn't sleep in the same hotels, or go to the same schools. This isn't the way my son would treat people. It was good for him to see all that Jackie Robinson had to go through to play baseball and to see how brave he was not to give it up because of all the mean things that were said and done to him. Jackie persisted and helped integrate baseball so that other blacks could play. This was a really good book.
