This is the first of Sue Grafton's alphabet murder series. It was a quick read and not as deep as I was anticipating, but still very fun. There was a lot of set-up for the main character, and less of the mystery, but this is obviously being set up for the series. It is worth the effort to finish if you feel bored with the descriptions of her drives around California. I also thought I needed a notebook for all the characters, wives, ex-wives and girlfriends especially. It is quite funny reading a book first published in the 80s so they can’t just pick up a mobile phone when they are in trouble.
Starting off on the ABC murders book spiral.

Safely received with thanks. I aim to start it towards the end of the week, so I expect it will soon be on the road again :)
Very strong for a first book in such a long-lived series. The rhythm is nice, the characters get enough page time, so to put it, and while I didn't quite fall for one specific angle of it, the plot is believable, for a mystery novel. Suspicions are laid out nicely and it doesn't feel like revelation drop out of thin air.
Thank you so much for organizing this spiral, I'm so glad I signed up :) The book is ready to travel to its next reader.

Finally posting tomorrow morning to ReetPetite. Happy reading and sorry for the delay. Life is a bit too good to be true these days. But things will even out eventually :)
Thanks very much
