Karen was annoying in her special Karen way during the plot of this book. She signed up to visit a woman in a nursing home, but soon grew bored with her. She wouldn't let Hannie recite a poem Hannie had written for Halloween and wanted to perform at Grandparents' Day in the Nursing Home, but then she wrote a poem herself and performed it. What a brat.

The only good thing was when Nancy Dawes and Grandma B got together over the High Holy Days. Oh, and "Big Mama" in Nebraska was cool, too.
