This book came as a wonderful surprise in my mailbox, thanks to JudySlump612 who sent it along with a roundabout book as an RABCK. I am a fan of Cornell Woolrich but it is not so easy to find his books. Coincidentally, I am currently in the middle of Rendezvous in Black and am appreciating his skill in creating suspense. I was just thinking that I need to read more Woolrich and suddenly this book appears! What great timing, JudySlump612, and many thanks to you.
This is another excellent thriller by the underappreciated Cornell Woolrich. The plot has some similarities to one of his other works, Rendezvous in Black, in that a person commits a series of murders in an act of revenge. In this book, the serial killer is a woman rather than a man. This novel is a page-turning and disturbing read that I highly recommend.
Unfortunately, this book is falling apart so it is not suitable for sharing with other readers. Instead, I've sent it to a fellow member of Distributed Proofreaders Canada so that it can be scanned and made into an e-book to be shared at www.fadedpage.com. Because Cornell Woolrich died in 1968, his works are considered part of the public domain in Canada. I hope many others will enjoy this book as much as I did.
