The first selection in this book is fiction (sort of a ghost story) that almost seems like an excerpt from a longer novel— a lot of loose ends. The rest of the book appears to be biographies of famous pirates, and illustrates that while they’ve been romanticisized, they were awful people and encountering them was far from adventurous & fun.
