This is going to kriskras, when I have her adress.

The wind in the willows just arrived. What a cute little book this is! It will accompany me to Italy next week, where I hope to read it in the shadow of a big tree, although I doubt that it will be a willow tree.

Thanks for sending it, Jehanne!

I was curious to read this book because of the BBC's series I always watched with my children when they were very young. The stories about Mr Toad, Mole and Ratty are lovely, but reading them alone isn't the same as watching together with your children; I didn't have the patience to read the book from front to back. Nevertheless, I had some pleasant hours with it.

Myscreenname has lots of other reading stuff at the moment, and has asked me to pass the book on to Olifant. Thanks for ringing, Plinius!

A story written in 1908, but still a very pleasant read! Rat, mole, toad and badger are the hero's and I'll miss them now that I have finished the book.

Book goes to Jesi.

I have received the book. Thank you for mailing it to me Olifant!

It is a bit of an old print and that makes it an even more precious read. I am looking forward to sit down and open the book. For now it will go on top of my TBR pile.

Is there already somebody that I can send the book to afterwards? If not, can I do with the book as I think best?

What a sweet little story! Unbelievable that it is so old! (1906)

I had a hard time getting into the language everytime I started a new chapter, but I really enjoyed the story. I will never forget the Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Having read the book now, none can take the story away from me again. The Mole, Water Rat, the Badger and of course the conceited Toad have comforted me during a rough couple of weeks. Their adventures really cheered me up!

Thank you for letting me read it.

The book will be on its way to 1972Galadriel as soon as I have received the address.

What a great read! I had to get used to the language and style a bit, and some parts really made me wonder, like the magical apparition of this piper. I was surprised to see the illustrations were by E.H. Shepard, who also did Winnie the Pooh. Thanks Plinius for giving me the opportunity to finally read this children's classic. Sent it to Elefteria today. As 1972Galadriel wrote, the book is slowly falling apart, I hope it can continue the rest of its travel...

Wind in the Willows survived the Christmas postal chaos!
I found it in my mailbox just yet (dank je wel Elefteria!).

I'll start this one as soon as I've finished my current read, which will be somewhere next week.

You'll hear from me!

Well, I'm afraid I'm not so positive as everyone else.
I suppose I expected a different kind of read.
It took me a long time to finish the story, because by times I found it a bit boring. I never saw the television series or the movies, maybe that's the reason?
I think in an other period of my life this book will mean more to me than it did now. I will probably re-read it another time.

What I did like was the atmosphere in the beginning of the book: Mole and Water Rat who are living a simple joyfull life... hmmm....

Dank je wel Plinius, for sharing. Later today I'll send the book on to Suzy26.

I received this book in the mail yesterday, all neatly glued together by Wilmar. It still looks very fragile though, so I will be very careful with it. I immediately read the first chapter and part of the second and I already like it very much. Thanks for sending this book to me Wilmar and also many thanks for your cup of coffee (I never drink coffee, but how were you to know that? I just imagine it to be tea!). Thanks for sharing, Plinius.
