Coraline
14 journalers for this copy...
My first trip into Neil Gaimans books.
A chilling childrens' story that really grips you.
A chilling childrens' story that really grips you.
Well... I don't really understand how this book found its way to me, but I will ask the person involved (bilbiiiiiiiii !). Anyway, thanks raven4022 :)
It's a good, quick read. It could have done with less "let's make friend with our young reader" (e.g : "Coraline wondered why so few of the adult she had met made any sense"), but otherwise it's not too much "childish".
Still, I didn't found the little something that make other Gaiman's novels outstanding (except maybe "American Gods"), but average Gaiman work is still good !
Oh, and I guess that it can really frighten children, beware :)

2) Then send a PM to the next person in order to have his/her mail adress
3) Read the book (well, if you fell like :) )
4) Then make a new journal entry, to give your opinion if you want to, but mainly to tell when the book will be send to the next person !
Happy reading !

merci rozenn!

A parallel world, easy to enter, not so easy to leave...
It's well written, and I've enjoyed this book, although it's not the "genre" I usually prefer!
Mailed to Marie-Tatance this afternoon

Yay, Yummy Neil is at (my) home !
Yay, Yummy Neil is at (my) home !
in english, especially for Raven4022 :) (hope to be understandable...)
First off, I'm very proud of myself ^^ to read un english. Thank you, BXers : without you, I'd never dare to try...
So, I understood, let's say, 70%, yay ! And it was a big pleasure. What a refreshing read ! Neiiiil Gaiman knows the art to speak to our inner-childhood, to make us feel the feelings of the childhood, with intelligent and well-written stories.
Thank you Raven and Rozenn !
I'll bring Coraline to Tweesty ASAP

Coraline is here, thanks Nob' !
First, I apologize, because I kept the book so long.
But, yay, Coraline is now ready to keep on its travel.
I really enjoy reading this book. It's a kind of "Alice in wonderlands", a little darker. A good read!
Valtin passes his turn, so next step: Meso in Strabourg!

Hey hey, just got it in the snail mail today.
Also, thanks for the nice sweets with it!
One point, though — would it be possible to rather send the book to Thémiramis, or any other French-located Bookcrosser? Not that I don't like sending abroad for sure, but you know how it is to manage with money as a student... If that's granted, just perfect, and if not it will take a longer time since I'm currently on my way to moving.
On my TBR, anyway :)

Goodness that's just about perfect, chilling, and there's so much poetry in this book...

Absolutely lovely! The story kept me holding my breath while reading in the tramway, it got me late at work for I wanted to finish a chapter at any cost, and it even brought me quite a weird nightmare...
Really pleasent to read, I'll doubtlessly recommend it!
I've sent a PM to my fellow Romanian BCers who's on holidays now, but more news soon! =)

Picked up today from the post office! I can't wait to read it:) thank you so much for passing this on!
27 September 05: In a way I am glad I haven't known about this book when I was a little girl because I have a very vivid imagination and the book has some really scary bits! My favorite trait of Coraline is her desire to explore - it was useful in the end, wasn't it?
Thank you rozenn for sharing this book!
Now, I am going to pm the next reader on the list for the address!
30 September 05: mailed today!

Thank you!

Just received today ! Well, my sister is above me on the list. Who will read it first ??!!!!
Thanks !
Thanks !
I didn't go to work today : I'm sick. I take this book out of my Mt TBR and it was a quick, nice read. I love to think of parallel worlds. How would my other sister be ? It was really nice to follow Coraline through her journey.
I don't know if THEMIRAMIS will read the book in English but she will surely read it in French anyway !
Thanks for sharing this book :*

No one seems interested for the 'ray at the moment so let it travel on to Switzerland...\o/

Coraline is in Geneva right now ! I see it already traveled a lot. I'm very happy to read it, I love Neil Gaiman's world...(and it's not too big, for once ;-) !
I really enjoyed this book between fairy tale and horror story. My son of 8 years old, Aristochat (didn't read it, it doesn't like scary books) but gave it to the older sister of a friend of him. We tried to explain to her what she was supposed to do. Let's see if she understood !

Your son's name is Aristochat?! :-)
His bookcrossers'name ;-) !
