Journal Entry 1 by JessicaEby from Cambridge, Ontario Canada on Wednesday, December 27, 2017
I bought this book at a charity shop in my neighbouring city of Brantford, ON.

I was looking for some new Canadian literature to read, and this one caught my attention. It seems a little outside of my usual literature zone, which is appealing to me right now. I thought it looked like it could be funny; my husband thinks it could be funny or awful. I guess we'll see which it is!

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated my 2017 bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I am registering this book as part of my Canada 150 project.

I finished reading this book today after starting ages ago and putting it down every so often for more time-sensitive reads.

Although it seems like it's a bit out of date now , it was an easy and entertaining read with a sweet story. I'd read the rest of the series.

I was telling my dad a bit about this book and he says it sounds like a Canadian version of Green Acres. I'm not very familiar with Green Acres really, so I can't say if that's true, but I thought I'd include the comment in this journal anyway.

Released 5 yrs ago (7/2/2018 UTC) at Bench at Main St and Owen Sound St in Shelburne, Ontario Canada

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

My husband and I passed through Shelburne this afternoon and I left this book on a bench downtown, near the intersection of Main St and Owen Sound St. IT was the bench closest to the office of the Shelburne Free Press, which we picked up a copy of while we were there. I thought this was a fitting place to leave this book as it was written by a former editor of the Free Press, was originally published as a serial in the Free Press, and is in fact a collection of fictional letters to the Free Press!

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. We'd love it if you'd stick around with us a while. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of a couple of release challenges here on bookcrossing-- the 2018 "Canada Days" Release Challenge and the 2018 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge, in which Shelburne was Town #17 for me!
