Thank you Lamilla ! I'm looking forward to this one. Without reading any review to be sure. My policy anyway. ;)
I couldn't put it down, I read very late in the night but it was worth it.
On its way to Austria. Enjoy !
This book arrived today while I was at my physiotherapy appointment. I don't remember who originally recommended it to me and why, and that's good - because now I can delve straight into it without any expectations and let the book surprise me. As soon as this hectic week of exams (and marking) is over.
Thanks for including me in this bookray, Lamilla - and thanks for forwarding the book to me, Icila. :)

I devoured this over the weekend. If you want to avoid spoilers, then read the book first, and only when you've done so mark the following ("invisible") paragraph with your mouse to reveal the white-on-white writing.
I really enjoyed the limited multi-perspective storytelling. It sets up the mysteries perfectly, and it makes for some very gripping reading. In the beginning I could hardly put the book down, even when I had to. Somewhere in the (longish) middle part I clocked on to Adele's long-term plan (connecting the weight loss and health angle and the lucid dreaming), and/but there were still so many pages left, things could possibly be swung around before the ending, couldn't they? (When it was obvious that the darker ending would be the better one from a narratological perspective... at least for somebody who reads a lot of horror.) And then, maybe because I'd been swirling the plot elements around my head in my necessary breaks from reading, and maybe also because most of my favourite reads (and genres) contain supernatural elements, somewhere - maybe as close as 30-20 pages before the ending, all the missing elements finally perfectly clicked together in my head, and I knew what was going to happen, and I liked this version even better. It was all so neatly set up. And all I had to do was read on and verify it. And it was exactly like I had pictured, and that felt very satisfying (if super creepy, obviously).
Thank you for this great read. It was just the kind of entertainment I needed at the moment. Time to ask the next reader on the list for their address.

Have already read this will move along asap
This arrived yesterday. I'm already 1/3 into it and really enjoy it so far. Very intriguing. I love the small build-up of th story and can't wait to find out what the heck is going on there. Only criticism so far: I really dislike Louise as a character. She's like Bridget Jones without a sense of humour...
I think I will finish this very quickly. ;-)

So, I finished it. I also had problems putting down this book - definition of a page-turner. The build-up of the story was excellently done, always revealing a little more but never too much.
As I implied before, I really disliked Louise as a character. I found her naive, weak and utterly pathetic. And all that drinking (which is probably what made her so pathetic).... The low point for me was reached when she did her online "detective work" and got frustrated that she has to pick up her son - followed by the thought that she should definitely get a bottle of wine for later.
Lamilla, you asked on the postcard in the book to let you know how we like the ending. To be honest, that was the part of the story I really didn't like. I almost gave up reading 20 pages before the end because at that point it was obvious how the story would end (or so I thought) and that kind of ending was very disappointing to me. I would have wished for a more realistic (or real-world) outcome.
But thanks for sending this out. Except for the last few pages I enjoyed reading this a lot and will have a look at other books by Sarah Pinborough.

This has arrived safely in the Swiss Alps. I'll try to get to it soon, but must admit that it arrives at a very busy time - end of school year and just before we move out of our apartment of 18 years to another house. It's not far... but still a big job!

Here as a ring, this is a rather hard book to categorize... It reminded me a lot of Gone Girl and The Girl in the Train, for different reasons. Quite creepy, really, but hard to really comment without creating a spoiler. Good holiday read, as long as you follow it up with something light-hearted and fun (which I did).
I have the address for the next in line, but as she is away for a bit, I was asked to wait before posting this.
Thanks for making it available!

Arrived in Sweden! Thanks for sharing this book
I finished this book in just a few days, because it was so addicting to read this. I knew from reading some reviews on goodreads that the ending of this book was going to be something special, so obviously I kept guessing while I was reading how it was going to end. But, oh boy, I could not have predicted that! So obviously I’ll try not to give away any spoilers.
The story... Basically you meet 3 people: Louise, Adele and David. Louise has an affair with her new boss, the psychiatrist David, who is married to beautiful Adele. Soon Adele befriends Louise and part of the story focusses on Louis’ moral issues on this difficult love/friendship triangle. But it also becomes apparent that te marriage between Adele and David isn’t an ordinary marriage and that Adele her motives for this friendship aren’t at all innocent.
One of the things I liked about the story is that it made me wonder both about what happened in the past (between Adele and David) and was is going to happen in the present between the three of them. That’s why I just couldn’t put this book away.
As for the characters in the book. I didn’t like Louise, she was utterly naive and stupid. Oh and an alcoholic mom, who supposedly is overprotective over her son, but makes incredibly stupid decisions.

This is a tough book to review without giving things away for future readers. In brief, while I didn't like the characters & found it at times rather unbelievable, I still thought it a good read that was hard to put down.
As to the ending, well that got a thumbs up from me even though I sort of knew what was coming.
There's a bit more of my thoughts about the book here at goodreads but only read it if you've read the book already as it does contain*SPOILERS* & this is one of those books you're best not having any idea about ;o)
Thanks for sharing it with us Lamilla

Excited to lay my hands on this well received book. I hope I enjoy it as much as everyone else.
I loved it. This was one thriller that was hard to put down. I really liked how the narration is set up and I liked the ending. It was not what I had expected. I also did not like Louise.
Thanks for the bookray.
