Leaving overloaded Earth, they found a second paradise.
Civilisation on Earth was rich, comfortable - and overcrowded. Millions applied for the voyage but only the best were chosen to settle on Tau Ceti Four. The Colony was a success. The silver rivers and golden fields of Camelot overflowed with food and sport nurtured by the colonists' eco-sensitive hands. It was an idyll, the stuff of dreams.

Just one man, Cadmann Weyland, insisted on perimeter defenses: electric fence, minefield, barbed wire. Against what? Surely humans are the most destructive creatures in the universe? Surely the planet is friendly. Surely it's safe to walk in the fields after dark?

And beyond the perimeter the nightmare began to chatter....
