As a child, I would have loved this story; as an adult, the undertones creep me out: a family coercing their (youngest!) child to go off w/ a possibly dangerous stranger in exchange for $$; the whole weird sexual slavery vibe and then the death of the entire "troll" family which seems desirable mainly because they are ugly. But then, these old fairy tales are full of things that seem unsavory by today's standards. (Thank God)
