I read 'Solitude' by this author and it was ok; I enjoyed the content, though I found that Harris' writing style could be a bit unclear at times.

I started reading this, but didn't finish it. To begin with, I was baffled by Harris' assertion that our modern Internet culture deprives us of 'absence', or 'lack'. He never did explain what he meant by this, and it wasn't clear from the examples he gave. Eventually, after several chapters, I figured out that what he was talking about- I think- was unfilled time. (I was never completely sure.) The book also jumps between topics without clearly explaining how they are related or how they support the thesis (though I admit that this may have been self-evident if I had known what the thesis was, i.e., what Harris meant by a lack of absence).

I hope the next reader gets more out of this than I did.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Released in the Little Free Library around 7:30pm.

I just went by the Little Free Library on 10A St NW and noticed this book was still there. I thought I'd pick it up, post an update on its whereabouts, and try re-releasing it somewhere else. The HSCA Little Free Library on 5 Ave NW has been pretty empty (sometimes completely empty) lately, so maybe the book will have better luck there.
