I got this ex-library hardcover at a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's the tale of a family get-together for Thanksgiving, with rhymes in between the narrative pages - such as this one, to kick things off:
"Monday -- wash.
Tuesday -- scour.
Wednesday -- bake.
Thursday -- devour."
Some of the rhymes are from traditional folklore or nursery tales, but all center around family and food, with some quirky spins here and there.
