I found this gem of a children's book at a charity shop in my neighbouring city of Kitchener, ON. It's a sweet story with good messages about learning from our elders, not being afraid of difference, the values of people and love, etc. It also features lovely illustrations by Rhian Brynjolson.

As this book is sort of a Christmas story and we're now coming into the Christmas season I hope to release it soon, although I'm not sure exactly where/when just yet.

In celebration of the sesquicentennial, I have dedicated this year's bookcrossing activity to the reading and sharing of Canadian stories. I'm happy to include this one in my Canada 150 project.

While driving home from a weekend trip to Quebec, my husband and I stopped for gas in Brighton. While we were there, I left this book at the McDonald's/Shell Station. Since it's almost Christmas, I thought this was a good opportunity to release this Christmas storybook. I left it beside a big poinsettia on a table with tourism maps, brochures, etc. It was just on the Shell side of the building's entrance.

This book was released as part of the 2017 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" Release Challenge. I finished my 52 in August but I've kept on going; Brighton was Town #82 for me!
