I adored ‘Talk to the Hand’ and, of course, ‘Eats, Shoots and Leaves’, both nonfiction by this author. The only one of her novels I had read before was ‘Cat Out of Hell’, and it was okay. It reminded me a lot of Alan Bradley- it had that same unusual, cheeky, lighthearted tone. I enjoyed the novelty of it, but I feel like it might have grown tiresome if it had been any longer.

This collection features three of Lynne Truss’ novels as well as some columns. Based on my past experience with her work, I expected that I would like the columns and would find the novels only slightly entertaining. In fact, I started reading every piece in this book, but I didn't finish any of them- the writing was fine, but the subject matter just didn't engage me at all.

I hope the next reader enjoys this more!
