The sea is a plate of glass
on one day,
a slap of rage another.

Wasn't sure what I was going to think of this one.
Classics are classics, after all, and who knows how well the original story would come across. I've never actually read "The Sea Wolf" so it was all new to me. I thought it was pretty good and very engaging. A bit over dramatic but the original story probably was too.
I liked it though, for better or worse.

This lucky little book has become part of nimrodiel's Manga & Graphic novel bookbox! :)
As usual, I'm trying to put a variety of types in here, so there's lots of stuff that people haven't seen before. This one qualifies I think!
Hope it finds a new reader! ;)

This came back in my manga & graphic novel book box.
I thought that this was a good adaptation of the classic adventure novel The Sea Wolf. I wasn't super fond of the en art for this as it became hard to differentiate Humphrey from the other characters. But it was an enjoyable read during my commute, and now I want to dig out my husband's well loved copy of the original story.
I am passing this along to a co-worker whose son reads a lot of comics and graphic novels. I think it is the type of adventure story that a boy his age will appreciate.
my co-workr returned this to me last week. She said that both her 11 year old and 9 year old read this one multiple times as it was in the car for a bit. She mentioned that both boys enjoyed the story, I hope that this was a good introduction to Jack London and might serve as a gateway to his written books, as the adventures he writes about are perfect for this age of boys.
