When the novel begins, Rosemary is at the college's canteen. She is provoked by a "psycho bitch" called Harlow. The cook calls the police and is Rosemary who ends up in jail. When both of them have the opportunity to calm down, I thought they could end up being friends.

From this situation, Rosemary begins to look at herself. She realises that there are plenty of things in her past that she should finally confront, specially the growing up and education she has received from her parents. The father was a scientist, Mother was a homemaker. Lowell was the brother, Fern the sister, and her twin, second in Lowel's preferences, there was Rosemary. There's also an extended family composed of grandparents, cousins, and friends, including Mary, the imaginary best friend.

The thing is that this is not a straight-forward family. I'm not sure what has been divulged in the marketing, but I think I'm not going spoil the big twist, just in case. Let's just stick to the less surprising parts: Fern was expelled from the family and Rosemary never really got over it. Lowell went away years afterwards, fighting for animal rights - for violent and terrorist means if necessary.

The topic is hyper interesting, but I didn't particularly like the way it was written. I hated the parents, what the hell were they thinking?
